To Metal Group the promotion of recycling as an integral part of doing business is fundamental. This is why we focus our daily operation on recuperating scrap or waste materials and then subsequently converting them into a usable state, in order to allow them to be reintroduced into the productive cycle.

Metal Group believes in an economic system able to sustain and encourage ecologically sound development and for this reason it promotes new research and experimentation in this field.

As for scrap and raw materials, Metal Group offers its services to steel mills and foundries.

The Steel mills division consists of SEVEN companies specialized in the collection and handling of metallic scrap and raw materials (mainly ferrous scrap and stainless steel) which are then recycled and later re-distributed, to be once again utilized by steel mills, foundries and other businesses in Europe and all over the world.

This division is head by ONGIS METAL FER, the Italian leader in the sector of recycling stainless steel scrap which also prepares and sells high and low per cent nickel alloys, Cupronickel alloys, Monel, Titanium scrap and rapid steel.

ONGIS METAL FER, has its headquarters in Pontirolo Nuovo, Bergamo. Within the last few
years it has become one of the principal players in the field of collection and distribution of
metals in Italy, particularly that of stainless steel.

The following companies are included in this division:

GERITALL DUE specialized into the processing of stainless steel turnings, calibrated shredded stainless steel coolant and stabilizer thickeners for steel mills.
IRTRADING wich takes care of the preparation and distribution of ferrous alloys.
METAL INOX CENTRO is a collection site which also handles the preparation and storage of
metallic raw materials for Central Italy and the Balkan zones.
METAL INOX SUD is a collection site which also handles the preparation and storage of metallic raw materials for Southern Italy and the Mediterranean area.
DONAU METALis a collection site which also handles the preparation and storage of metallic
raw materials for Austria and Middle Europe.
METALGEO that collects and refines carbon steel scrap and has become the principal supplier for the most important domestic steel mills.
ALTA METAL is the division which deals with foundries. It is specialized in the collection,
handling and distribution of non ferrous metallic scrap, semi-finished products and non ferrous raw materials to the foundry market.
ALTA METAL is a Joint Venture with Metallum Group.
